The WNMU Museum Black-on-White Gala Opening Reception of the Juried Neo-Mimbreño 2012 Exhibition is held as part of the Silver City Clay Festival. Co-curated by artists Diana Ingalls Leyba and Beth Menczer, the Juried Neo-Mimbreño 2012 Exhibition showcases the recent creative efforts of artists throughout the Southwest Region influenced by the extraordinary painted pottery of the prehistoric Mimbres culture featured at WNMU Museum.

Dr. Harry J. Shafer, professor emeritus of anthropology at Texas A&M University, noted Mimbres scholar and archaeologist, principal investigator of 30 plus years of archaeological research at the NAN Ranch in the Mimbres Valley, and author of Mimbres Archaeology at the NAN Ranch Ruin is the exhibition juror.

The Black-on White Gala Opening Reception is a fundraiser. Proceeds will be used for museum operations. The reception is $50.00 per person, cocktail attire, black-on-white dress requested. Tickets for the reception are available for purchase via the response card included in the invitation or can be purchased at the WNMU Museum, Syzygy Tileworks, Alotta Gelato, Leyba & Ingalls Arts, and the Mimbres Region Arts Council. Tickets must be purchased in advance to attend. Tickets will not be sold at the door on the day or evening of the event.
