Drop In, Pitch In, Create a Bowl…

Saturday, July 20th // 10am - 4pm

To be held at: Syzygy Tile 106 N. Bullard St. Silver City, NM

Join us for this FREE Clay Festival event, and create a bowl in clay!

All materials will be provided.

Demonstrations will be held periodically throughout the day on how to hand build a bowl including Mimbreno stamps to decorate with.

After firing, the bowls will be glazed during The River Festival and then sold (filled with soup!) during the Empty Bowls Fundraiser in October. All proceeds will benefit Silver City’s local Food Pantry.

All ages welcome: Children under 10 must be accompanied by and adult.

Facilitators: Zoe Wolfe & Judy Menefee

To raise funds in support of The Commons food pantry

Dear artists,
THANKS again to all who participated in making bowls 2 years ago for this fundraiser. And welcome aboard new artists! Many people have asked when it’s coming up and we are happy to announce that we will be holding the dinner once again late October, 2019...making it a biannual event.

The intention of the dinner is offering handmade ceramic bowls for sale along with homemade soup, bread and cookies. The money raised will then be donated to the food pantry at TVC. To stage a successful event where, for only $20, each person can choose a bowl and enjoy a simple soup dinner, we have a lot to arrange.

This is where YOU come in!
Your willingness to contribute bowls, some of your personal art, is the HEART of this event.
The more bowls we receive, the more tickets we can sell, the more money we raise, the more people we can feed.
Our intention is that all our food, paper goods and publicity, as well as the bowls, are donated so we have no expenses and all money raised can go to the pantry.
May we count on you for a contribution of 10-50 bowls?

We offer you your name or business name on the place mats, a place for your business cards on the tables, and a donation receipt from TVC for deductions on your taxes. In addition to this, we will do our best to tell each recipient about their bowl: about you the artist and the technique used to create their unique bowl.

We are starting to prepare now. We need the bowls no later than late September which gives everyone ample time to commit and to prepare.
We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and willingness to contribute bowls for this event.

Please contact Zoe Wolfe below with your pledge # of bowls to be donated.
