Malika discovered clay in the early 1980s. Before that she had been a painter who showed her work in Los Angeles, Denver, and Aspen, Colorado. She was mesmerized by the potential of fire to create metamorphic glaze effects and the ability she had to form any shape she wanted to. Most of her work is functional- she calls it “Heartful Art for Everyday Use”. You can find her work at Finn’s Gallery in Silver City, NM; Cloudcroft Gallery in Cloudcroft, NM; and at the Chiricahua Gallery in Rodeo, NM. Studio tours are given by appointment.
