Book Presentation and Live Mata Ortiz Pottery Demonstration

Award-winning and best-selling author Charmayne Samuelson presents on her new bilingual photo and poetry book: Mata Ortiz Poetry of the Clay: Pottery, Poems, Artists. In this stunning bilingual collection, Samuelson showcases the exceptional pottery of 24 Contemporary Mata Ortiz potters paired with her original poetry. The book also includes poetry, thoughts, and dreams shared by the artists themselves.
Author Presentations: 10am, 1pm, and 2pm
Master Potter Oralia Lopez from Mata Ortiz, Chihuahua, Mexico will be demonstrating her world-renowned painting style throughout the day. As a second-generation potter, Lopez employs traditional methods established by Juan Quezada.
Pottery Demonstrations: Throughout the day
Books will be available for sale with signing opportunities.
Authentic Mata Ortiz pottery will also be available for purchase.
