Owner Carole Czjuko, who moved here from Las Cruces, NM, had been dreaming of a big, open gallery with white walls and she knew is was meant to be when she saw the space was for sale. Originally owned by Elizabeth Warren, one of Silver City's early entrepreneurial women, the space has had several incarnations. For over 50 years it was a men's sporting goods store and supplied the local high school with letter jackets and other equipment. Soul River is home to several clay artists, as well as painters and photographers. Carole says that the gallery has something for everyone from museum quality art to $2 fair trade finger puppets. We can almost guarantee that you won't be able to leave empty handed.
